A comic-inspired virtual set, built in Unreal Engine.
We created this virtual set for Will Sliney’s Storytellers on RTÉ2, arranging illustrated panels into a layered digital environment. Different heights, angles and distances bring depth to the composition while keeping the comic artwork at the heart of the scene.
The programme blends drawing lessons with animated adventures, encouraging young viewers to create their own characters and stories. Our contribution focused on the virtual set shown in the development images below.
Inside the build
Front, angled and overhead development views reveal how the illustrated panels come together around the presenter position.

Arrange the artwork around the presenter position, balancing scale, spacing and visual focus.
Position the panels within a digital environment, using depth and varied angles to shape the set.
Examine front, angled and overhead views to refine the relationship between the artwork and the presenter.
